Atlanta Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect involved in a September 30th, 2017 armed robbery and carjacking along Lynhurst Dr. SW.
The armed robbery and carjacking happened at Atlanta City Council candidate Andrea Boone's campaign headquarters. Andrea Boone and Councilman Clarence "CT" Martin were picking up campaign placards during the time of the incident.
Boone went into her campaign headquarters and then exited the building while Councilman Martin waited inside of a car. After exiting the building Boone noticed Councilman Martin standing outside of the car, a young African American man then came from behind the door and struck a silver pistol with a red laser in her face.
The suspect is described by Boone as a light skinned African American man between 19 to 21 years old, 6'1 in height, and he was wearing a grey hoodie.
Boone stated the man demanded the keys to her car. Boone tried to give the suspect money but the man did not want it at first. The suspect then forced Boone and Councilman Martin into the rear of the building.
The suspect took Boone's purse which included money and credit cards, and the keys to the car. According to Boone, the suspect made both her and Councilman Martin lay on the ground. The suspect left the scene in the car by traveling west on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The stolen car was later located on the 2600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
