LGBT Liaison

The LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) Liaison Unit is a unit of the Atlanta Police Department whose goal is to improve the relationship between the LGBT community and the Atlanta Police Department. As public safety is a critical issue in our community, the mission of the LGBT Liaison Unit is to plan, develop, educate, promote programs and empower the community while providing a forum for citizens and business owners to express their concerns.

The Liaison Unit will promote cooperation between the Atlanta Police Department and the community, while taking a leading role in building a vital link between the Atlanta Police Department and the LGBT community. The LGBT Liaison unit will collaborate with community leaders, residents and businesses to design and implement public safety projects and programs to establish a closer, more effective dialogue between the police and the community.
