Preliminary information:  On Sunday, July 17, 2022 at around 2:13 a.m., Atlanta police responded to 3657 Martin Luther King Jr Dr NW on a person shot call.  Upon arrival, officers located one gunshot victim alert, conscious and breathing in front of the location.  The second gunshot victim was located alert, conscious and breathing at a nearby apartment complex at 405 Fairburn Rd. 

Both victims told police they were standing in front of 3657 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. with others when the suspect, who walked across the street to their location began shooting at them, striking them both before fleeing the scene on foot.  Both gunshot victims were transported to the hospital for further medical treatment.  Investigators with the Aggravated Assault Unit were notified and will be working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.  The investigation continues.
