Preliminary information:  On June 30, 2021, at around 8:44 p.m., officers were dispatched to 403 Moreland Ave SE on a person shot call.  Upon arrival, officers located a female with what appeared to be a possible gunshot wound.  She was transported to the hospital alert, conscious and breathing for further medical treatment.  The victim stated while she was sitting in the front passenger seat of a vehicle being driven by her friend in the area of I-20 EB near Boulevard, a sedan pulled in front of them and fired one shot towards their vehicle before fleeing the scene.  The driver immediately exited the highway and contacted police.  Investigators were notified and will be working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.  The investigation continues.
