Major Christian Hunt is a distinguished law enforcement professional with over two decades of service in the Atlanta Police Department. Born in the enclave of Niagara Falls, New York, Hunt's journey into policing began with a moment of inspiration sparked by a billboard in Buffalo announcing the Atlanta Police Department's hiring drive. 
Entering the police academy as part of Recruit Class 187 in 2003, Hunt graduated the following year and commenced his career as a patrolman in Zone 6, later assuming the role of Field Training Officer (TFO). Fondly recalling his time as the beat officer for communities like Forrest Cove, Thomasville Heights, and Leila Valley, Hunt's dedication and competence earned him the admiration of both peers and superiors. 
Throughout his career, Hunt ascended through the ranks, transitioning from detective in the Burglary Unit to sergeant in Zone 5, where he served in Patrol and the Crime Suppression Unit. Promoted to lieutenant in 2014, Hunt held diverse assignments spanning Patrol, Logistics, Fleet, Real-Time-Crime Center, Motors, HOPE, and Aviation. Notably, he led Team Delta as the Civil Disturbance Unit Commander during the 2020 civil unrest.  
In 2022, Hunt's leadership prowess led to his appointment as captain, overseeing departmental operations as Night Commander before assuming the role of Zone 5 Assistant Commander, managing administrative and operational needs. Today, Hunt serves as the Major of Zone 5, bringing his expertise to bear in SWAT Command Decision-Making and Leadership, as well as Sports and Special Events Incident Management. 
A graduate of the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command (SPSC #416) and the Atlanta Police Leadership Institute (APLI), Hunt exemplifies a commitment to continuous learning. His proactive approach extends to training in crisis response, including participation in Active Attack Integrated Response (ALLERT) on two occasions, emphasizing readiness in crisis scenarios. Furthermore, Major Hunt has completed Operation RAILSAFE training with Amtrak, showcasing his versatility in multi-agency cooperation and transportation security. Major Hunt has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, at the Herzing University in Atlanta.
