Major Brian Schiffbauer is a native of Uniontown Pennsylvania.  Schiffbauer joined the Atlanta Police Department in 1999, graduating with Class #170. After the academy, he was assigned to the Zone 5 precinct and later assigned to the Project Safe Neighborhood Task Force in the English Avenue Community.

In 2006, Schiffbauer was appointed to the rank of Investigator where worked Narcotics, the Special Victims Unit, and the Zone 1 Criminal Investigation Division.  In 2009, Schiffbauer was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and worked Zone 1 and was later assigned to the APEX Unit. 

Schiffbauer was promoted to Lieutenant in 2012 and served as the Zone 5 Morning Watch Commander and was later assigned as the Mounted Patrol Commander.  In 2017, Schiffbauer was appointed to the rank of Captain and served as the Night Commander.  He was later assigned as the Zone 4 Assistant Commander and Special Enforcement Section Assistant Commander, 

In July of 2020, he was appointed to the rank of major where he was assigned as the Code Enforcement Commander. Major Schiffbauer has a bachelor’s degree in Administration of Justice from Penn State University.
