On Sunday July 24, 2022, at around 1:00am an Atlanta Police officer on patrol was flagged down by a driver in the 1600 block of Northside Dr NW. The driver told the officer that four people in the vehicle had been shot. The vehicle was escorted to Piedmont Hospital where the victims were being treated when two more victims with gunshot wounds arrived at Piedmont Hospital. These six victims were in stable condition. Officers later learned that two other victims arrived at Emory Hospital in critical condition and were transferred to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Preliminary investigation found that the eight victims were gathered outside a gas station at 1695 Northside Dr NW when they were shot by unknown suspect(s). The victims are six females – aged 16-21, and two males – aged 18 and 21. The investigation is continuing.
