UPDATE: On October 17, 2024, 62-year-old Mr. Edward Hunt III was arrested by the Florida State Patrol for the charges of Murder and Aggravated Battery. Mr. Hunt will be extradited back to Atlanta upon completion of the extradition process.

On August 3, 2024, Atlanta Police Zone3 Officers responded to reports of a person down call at 3701 Jonesboro Rd SE.  Upon arriving on the scene, officers located a 43-year-old female lying on the floor.  The female victim was declared deceased on scene by medical personnel. Investigators responded to the location to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Preliminary information suggests the victim suffered from blunt force trauma injuries. The investigation continues.
